  "Blinking" display
Posted by: Olli - 10-24-2024, 04:22 PM - Forum: BETA - Replies (6)

I already posted this on Facebook, then discovered the new forum, wich I personally prefer!
So I repost here:

This morning, the third time, I had the "blinking" display. After work, the same again...
Unplugging and replugging resolves the problem (temporary?)
Is there any known bug?
...it is since the sw update...

...I made a short video of the Display, but cannot post it here unfortunately...

  External Temperature Sensors
Posted by: ChrisB22 - 10-19-2024, 04:53 PM - Forum: General discussion - Replies (4)

Hi all,

I was looking to extend the wiring on my temperature sensor as I would like to measure temperature away from the heat source, after reading the manual, I can add additional sensors to the controller.

After a quick search of DS18B20, I have found them available at suppliers over here in the UK. The manual states to connect in parallel so I assume they are addressed uniquely? Is it as straightforward as it sounds?

I must admit when I was initially trying to connect my AB to the internet I thought it was complicated, nope it was me overcomplicating it   Smile

Thanks

  Introduction Thread
Posted by: Wanderlounge - 10-18-2024, 12:34 PM - Forum: Get to know you - Replies (4)

New forum, maybe we can start off with members posting introductions?

I've been using an Afterburner since 2021 on my Skoolie (a school bus converted to a tiny home on wheels) and have used it to keep warm in more than a dozen states. We have a generic 5kw heater from Amazon and are able to keep our bus comfortable in temperatures well below freezing. Besides the wifi control and tuning abilities, my favorite feature of the AB is the frost mode setting, where I can have it automatically come on if the temperature drops below a (surprisingly high thanks to the wife) minimum temp without having to wake up and do it myself.

We generally try to spend winters in Florida and Texas where it almost never gets into the 20s but we do have quite a few nights in the 30s here. I know, people in northern places will laugh at our pathetic tolerance for cooler temps but I'm at an age where my hands stop working and start hurting when the needle drops below 60. A particularly nice feature we've done with our bus is to plumb the heater directly to the main fuel tank, which allows us to fill up in November and not worry about fuel until spring, my AB right now says we've burned 205 gallons of fuel since we installed it.

I've helped a dozen folks install diesel heaters in bus conversions and RVs and I always recommend the AB along with them. If anyone has questions about using a chinese diesel heater or afterburner in a bus, camper, RV, etc just holler!

Information Heater compatibility
Posted by: RayJones - 10-18-2024, 01:44 AM - Forum: FAQ - No Replies

The Afterburner requires the ECU within the heater to support the specific data protocol utilised by the Afterburner.
Not all heaters are compatible.

This PDF should assist with determining if your heater is suitable.
