"Blinking" display

I already posted this on Facebook, then discovered the new forum, wich I personally prefer!
So I repost here:

This morning, the third time, I had the "blinking" display. After work, the same again...
Unplugging and replugging resolves the problem (temporary?)
Is there any known bug?
...it is since the sw update...

...I made a short video of the Display, but cannot post it here unfortunately...

Being a BETA, I hope you do have to hand a FTDI (or similar) USB to serial adapter.

It would be best to attach that to the debug serial port (Tx to Rx, Rx to Tx, ie a direct plug onto the port if the connectors were amenable) and then capture the emitted output as the unit boots. There with luck what is happening at the point of reboot becomes more evident...

The Serial port runs @ 115200, 8 data , No parity, 1 stop bit.

Using the serial port, you can also roll back to the release firmware as well.

Oh, you should be able to attach items, provided you use the "Full Reply" mode, not quick reply.

Beneath the editing panel is an area you can click and drag attachments to... (maybe best on a PC?)

As it is in actual use, and the issue is only once in a while, I prefer not to solder...

Solder? There are header pins already in place to attach a serial breakout to.

I thought you were saying it was forever stuck in this mode so that would be worth investigating, but now the story is different  Huh 
Momentary voltage drops are invariably the reason why the AB gets stuck in a reboot loop, and they usually devolve to a suspect connection at one of the 3 connectors, being the JST plug, OEM controller plug, or the main ECU plug.

It is the instantaneous increase in current draw that causes the voltage drop,  especially when the wifi radio is enabled.
Ohm's law states that you will get a voltage drop across any marginal contact points, and if that goes under the brownout or voltage supervisor thresholds the unit will be rebooted.

Oh, I never disassembeld it, so I wa thinking I would have to solder...
No Idea why I "upgraded to a Beta SW... So I wait for the goodone and will upgrade to this, in the hope of getting rid of this issue.
meanwhile I will reset once in a while Big Grin

I have many of my keen beta testers running the latest beta.
If they had problems, I would certainly hear about it.

Invariably, reboots ARE BAD CONNECTIONS. A long proven history of this exists.
