BV-20 Lathe

I acquired what I presume to be a BV-20 lathe late in 2013.

The particular lathe had been sitting idle in my brother in laws garage for at least 10 years, prior to which it was my father in law’s machine.

It was, and still is a pretty basic machine, but a few modifications have improved it and now runs quite nicely.

Lathe as first acquired

Many modifications later the lathe now looks like below:

The modifications I have performed are as follows:

Lathe Stand.
Change Gears.
5” Chucks.
Quick Change Toolpost.
Thread Dial Indicator.
Tailstock cam lock.
DC Treadmill motor and speed controller.
Idler pulley support.
Splash guard.
